Turmeric for arthritis
Turmeric may be the most effective nutritional supplement in existence.
Many high quality studies show that it has major benefits in ARTHRITIS to reduce inflammation. It has been used in India for thousands of years as a spice and medicinal herb.
Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric. It has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a very strong antioxidant.
Dried Root Dose:
Turmeric is commonly sold in the form of a dry, powdered root. This form of turmeric may be used as a seasoning, mixed with juice or consumed in a capsule.
The U.S. National Institutes of Health note that an average adult in India consumes roughly 2 to 2.5 grams of dried turmeric root each day -- roughly three-quarters of an ounce. The University of Maryland Medical Center states that any dose between 1.5 and 3 grams is appropriate for an average- sized adult.
Easy way: Mix it with a glass of milk twice a day.
Warnings:
Turmeric, bromelain and ginger are all capable of thinning the blood and should only be used under the supervision of a trained health practitioner. Do not combine them with medicines used for thinning the blood, such as warfarin. If bleeding occurs while using these herbs, stop taking them immediately and seek medical attention.
