When You First Get Injured, Remember To PRICE!

PRICE regimen for Injury Treatment can reduce your Injury period and is an excellent first aid measure for acute training injuries.
As soon as possible after an injury, begin using PRICE
1.Protection 2.Rest 3.Ice 4.Compression 5.Elevation
This will help relieve pain and swelling. You should apply the PRICE method for 48 hours, or as recommended by your physiotherapist.
1. PROTECTION
Protect by applying an elastic bandage, sling, or splint.
2. REST
Rest the part for at least a day.
3. ICE
Ice immediately, and continue to ice for 10 to 15 minutes every hour, for 2-3 days.
4. COMPRESSION
Compress by gently wrapping with an Ace or other elastic bandage. (Don't wrap tightly.)
5. ELEVATION
Elevate injured area above the person's heart level, if possible, for at least 24 hours. While applying ice, use pillows to help add elevation to the injured area.
